A TIP

According to new research by Integrated Safety Support, many exhausted Australian office workers can't switch on at the office or switch off at home.

Poor flexible work habits during the pandemic have created an outbreak of poor quality sleep and an inability to separate work and home life. This can have a major impact on our health and wellbeing, contributing to burnout and even mental health challenges.

The solution? A big part of it is maintaining healthy morning, afternoon and bedtime routines, such as:

  • manufacturing a commute by taking a morning and afternoon walk while listening to a podcast

  • putting your laptop away somewhere at the end of the day and leaving it there until the next morning

  • avoiding all tech devices (and especially your work emails) for one hour before bed

A QUOTE

“Working in your pyjamas or from the comfort of your bed might seem harmless, but they’re some of the most common actions that blur the boundaries between work and home life for flexible workers,” ― Dr Adam Fletcher

A QUESTION

If you're working from home today, what's one thing you could do at the end of the day to create more of a distinction between work and home life?
